One of the most well known people buried in this cemetery is J. Sterling Morton, the founder of Arbor Day. The Morton monument, which was erected for his wife, Caroline Morton, is a large treestone. Another unique monument that is a must-see at this cemetery is the desk at the Harding family's plot. N.C. Harding was an insurance agent, and the monument is a replica of the rolltop desk at his office. The names of his family members buried in the plot are engraved on the open books on the desk.
