During the summer one of my best friends, Corrine's, grandmother passed away. She had cancer and she hadn't been doing good for a while. She lived with my friend so I knew her pretty well, I went to the veiwing and the funeral.

My other best friend's mom drove us to the cemetery. I didn't want to say anything to my friend, Melissa (because she get scared), that I felt like someone was behind us. I was trying to be respectful and listen to the priest but I kept turning around to see if someone was behind me. There was nothing but cemetery.

That night I had a dream that I was going to the grandmother's funeral. I was walking through the cemetery with Melissa, trying to get to funeral. While we were walking this man kept following us. He kept asking "Where is she? I miss her. Is she here yet? Where is she?" The entire time I kept assuring the man that "She's on her way." When we finally reached the funeral and the casket was buried already. I had no idea who the man was or who I was talking about. The man appeared again and thanked me and then was gone. I thought about it and the only thing that I could think of was that the man was Corrine's grandfather, who passed a long time ago. I had never seen Corrine's grandfather so I didn't know what he looked like.

I only told the dream to Melissa, I didn't want to upset Corrine or scare her. A few days after telling Melissa about the dream, we were at Corrine's house and we were looking through pictures. Melissa showed me a picture of Corrine's grandfather so I could see if he looked like the man in my dream. My exact words were "Holy shit." and I stared at the picture for probably ten minutes in shock. He was the man in my dream.

The man in my dream was the same man in the picture. Only the man in my dream was thinner and tried looking. Melissa got scared and I can say that joined her on this one. I didn't share the dream with Corrine, still not wanting to upset her.

The next night though I had a dream where I was on a school trip, and we were at the cemetery. In the dream Corrine was mad at me for not telling her something. Through the whole dream I tried to make things better between us but I couldn't. I kept having dreams about cemeteries until about a month later when I told Corrine about the dream in which her grandfather was thanking me for helping him find her grandmother.

After I told her, my dreams about cemeteries stopped. I know it could have just been my vivid imagination that made these dreams occur, but I really believe that Corrine's grandfather wanted Corrine to know that he found her grandmother.

Has anyone had a dream like this? Or a dream where you think a spirit was trying to tell you something?

The best advice I ever got as a rookie cop was, "When in doubt, follow your gut."
That is the same advice I would give you here.
(Personally I think you're on the right track ... he wanted her to know, and you were the best means of commo he had!)

Thanks, that is some advice I should keep in mind! I'm always second guessing things.

Some people think I'm totally insane for piecing the dreams and real life events together like that. That or they think the dreams were a coincidence.

Insane?
Most certainly NOT!!
Perfectly normal, I would say!
The human mind is hard wired to solve puzzles. Think of a half-grasped word in a conversation: we automatically try to complete the word. Or part of a sentence, quickly glanced; our mind automatically projects what the rest of the sentence says.
Detectives use this every day in trying to solve the conundrums and mysteries of human behavior.
We do the same with dreams, for dreams are often an expression of observations we've made, thoughts we've had, information that has had time to process deep in the subconscious and only later is reintroduced to our higher thought processes ... as dreams.
