On Sept. 13,2005 in Girard,Ohio, my two Grandchildren were murdered when fire was set to their home in an attempt to cover up the stabbing death of their young Mother, aged 22.Mason was 5 years old ,Baby Christian was 22 months old. They died in their beds asleep, of smoke inhalation. My Son was Christian's blood Father. My Son had been with Lena since Mason was just a baby and though the bond was not born of blood,it was no less so.Mason believed Joe was his Daddy and we all believed that Mason was a part of us.
Lena, the Mother , had been a part of our family for five years and her and Joe decided to take a break and he moved in with us. Within three months of this happening, tragedy struck. Lena and Joe spoke on the phone each night and still saw one another,so the closeness was still there. The babies stayed at my house 4 days out of the week and had only returned back to their Mom's house the night that they were murdered.
My Son has been cleared of any suspicion in this case. There does exist a person of interest but I am not 100% sure in my gut ,I guess because my gut tells me he either did not act alone or at the very least, someone else was in on what he was going to do.
Lena was very strong-willed and the children were real characters.
My question is this: Why have we not been contacted by any of them? I grew up believing in ghosts, this was just the way it was in my family.Ghost existed.I was thinking perhaps the babies, being naturally innocent, went straight to Heaven, the higher being, the pureness, whatever one chooses to call it.But Lena,so strong-willed? Perhaps the answer is that she simply went right away also.
Does anyone have any input?

Sincerely,Cindy

Hi Cindy, thanks for joining the message board. I am so sorry to hear about your family's murder.

Not every death results in a haunting. Perhaps many spirits just move on right away. And perhaps in the case of Lena, she moved on right away so she could be with her two young children. Unfortunately, questions like this are difficult to answer, because no one really knows for sure.

not everyones whom get killed ends up as a ghost i think having her kids with her could have made her realize and accept what happend faster and her gut would have told her to be and follow her kids she may have no reason to stick around

Lena was dead first and hours later, the children ,as she was stabbed to death and they died of smoke inhalation. We were told that the fire smoldered for hours before it was reported by the next door neighbor of the duplex that they lived in.This neighbor hung around the "person of interest."
It would be a comforting thought to think that she went to be with the babies. Thank you for your replies.

Cindy,

I cannot invision a more terrible scenerio than those precious angels having to die in such a manner.

Your daughter, more than likely, did stay if only for the brief time between her own death and that of her children. Have no doubts in your heart and mind that she is with them, and they are safe and happy.

The "person of interest" you speak of, do the authorities know of your suspicions, and that of the neighbors? Please, both of you need to go together to the police or even the Fire Marshall or DA and rattle a few cages if need be. Even if the police or others suspect him(?) don't keep your thoughts to yourselves.

My gut tells me your daughter may not appear to you, but she doesn't want her neighbor, you, or anyone else to be silent.

Lena, Mason and Christian need all of you now more than ever. The more of you that come forward as a group will make all the difference in the world.

Thank you for taking the time to post on this subject.Lena was not my daughter but the babies were my son's.
In four months it will be 4 years since they were murdered. There is a person of interest and BCI is now on the case as well.
Our fund is still up and running and we continue to lend a helping hand to children in need in loving memory of ours.

May I make a correction?

Regardless of whether Lena was a blood relation to you or not, you obviously loved her as if she were, your posts and the website prove that.

We do not have to be related by blood to love and be loved. :love2:

You didn't make a correction, you made a really correct observation. That's pretty good.
I believe also that though the bonds of love may not be borne from blood, it makes it no less so.
