I just bought the Cell Sensor, the one that has the hand held probe.
What is the best way to use the probe for paranormal research ? I went through our house to find all of the appliance and wiring hot spots.

Also I was wondering what the best audio download is for EVP research ?
I am using Audacity for now.

Thank You
Turbo

Hello Turbo, I am sure you will get different opinions so here are mine. As far as the cell sensor, that particular meter is an AC meter at it is made to do just what your doing with it. Finding man made currents- ie the power grid. In my opinion, the only thing this meter is good for is to rule out EMF sensitivity and not in any way a device that others claim as a 'ghost detector'. I made and article about EMF sensativity that you can read here if your interested:
http://www.bsphi.com/2008-assets/pages/ ... angers.pdf

Now as far as EVP's, there are several programs out there. Audacity, Wave Pad and Audition are generaly the top three. Personally I use Wave Pad for 80% of what I do and then Audition for the remaining 20%. Do keep in mind, that a true EVP should require very little work other than a possible noise reduction and an amplification. In EVP's the less you have to modify the file the more legit it is.

If I can be any further help, please do not hesitate to ask.
Gene

I have the Cell Sensor EMF and like Gene said, how you are using it seems to be the best way to use them. I am very "on the bubble" on how the paranormal can effect EMF fields, so I just say it is another debunking tool. In my opinion, a compass is the most accurate tool for checking EMF fields.

For EVP's, I use WavePad mainly for the free side of it. LOL Also it is easy to use and seems to work well.

While I was watching Ghost Hunters last week, they were using the K2 meter. I don't really know much about the device. It looks like a toy.
Any opinions on the K2 ?
Thanks for the responses. It is very helpful for a beginner like me.

Thank You
Turbo

Just keep asking, everyone will help where they can. I had actually just responded to this same question for someone who had emailed me, here is a copy of my response:

Quote:
I can speak to this a little. First let me say that there is no scientific data that suggests that a spirit can manipulate an AC (man made) current- which is what the K-II meter is designed to detect. Our group has 4 or 5 K-II's that we experiment with. To my surprise, we have had a couple 'conversations'. I have no other explanation, the answers were consistent and verifiable. The interesting thing is that we had 3 K-II's within a foot of each other. They did not flash at the same time, which would rule out a random emf wave. I think these needs more field research but personally I don't think being an EMF meter has anything to do with it, my thoughts are that due to the lights and how cheap this device is made it is allowing 'communication' a different way.

There is a video that we took on this page:

http://www.bsphi.com/2008-assets/pages/ ... 51407.html

and is listed as:

"This video shows our first experience using the K-II meter"

Also, I have a "How to" section on our web page that will show you step by step how to add a switch to your meter. This is very simple:

http://www.bsphi.com/2008-assets/pages/ ... icles.html

I hope this helps and please let me know if I can be any further help,

I ordered Franks Ghost Box yesterday. I talked to a Ghost Hunters organization a few weeks ago in Sacramento they talked rather positive about the box.
I will give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for the info on the K2.
It sounds really interesting. I'm gonna give it a try.

A true 'Frank's Box' is only made by one person, and he does not sell them. I am curious what box you ordered.

I got the box on Ebay. The seller has a store called Ghost Hunting Goods.
The box has a refund if not satisfied. The seller has a 100% rating from other buyer's. I will give it a try and see what happens.

At this site you can download plans to make your own box using a AM/FM
digital radio. I looked at the plans. Needless to say the plans were a little over my head. Also they have articles about other boxes being developed and tested.

I will let you know the results I have with this box.

That radio is what is called a Radio Shack Hack. It is a very simple process and I have made several for people. I only charged them the price of the radio and shipping. Like I said this is very simple to do and I can tell you how to do it if your interested.

Here is one that we have and it has produced some very interesting results:

You guys make this sound to easy. I was a mechanic with the railroad for
27 years. Everything I worked on was rather big.
The inside of a small electronic device is out of my league.

I sure do like your websites. That lay away plan is great. I'm going to drop
some hints to my wife about the mini box.

I was wondering if anybody has had any results scanning the FM band ?

Thanks
Turbo

The mini box is from paranormal systems, not ours. The radio shack hack is so simple. I think there are some how to videos on you tube.

That is how I learned to make mine. Really it is as simple as removing a couple screws, and cutting off one pin on the circuit board, then put it back together.

Also a real Frank's box does scan FM and AM frequencies randomly.
