I was out driving around the neighborhood photographing birds, and drove back into Area H along the Scioto River, North of Home Road. I did a double-take: there was a gravestone between the parking area and the river!
I don't know how I missed this one in the past - I'd actually been off hunting for Leasure Cemetery (Liberty Township, #2932 in the Big Blue Book), but never found it. The GPS coordinates I'd found on the web and put in my GPS were further South from where it actually is located (recorded today as N40 10.756, W83 07.614). I guess that I never pulled into Area H! This is about 1.7 miles North of Glick Road/O'Shaughnessy Dam and 1.3 miles South of Home Road on the West side of Riverside Drive.
I note that Beth does not have this one among her documented cemeteries, and may have mistakenly attributed this as an alternate name for Carson Cemetery, which is located further North near Home Road.
The names on the stone are William and Polly Leasure. Some googling found:
Leasure Polly --/--/1797 12/29/1849 LEASURE(LIBERTY TWP)
Leasure William 04/--/1787 09/24/1877 LEASURE(LIBERTY TWP)
There is some very worn engraving on the North side of the stone, but no record of any others buried in Leasure Cemetery. As best I can make it out (using some photo enhancement toolks), it says: "Rosan (?), Wife Of John Shrader, Died ???, Apr ??? 1860, Aged ???". More googling found that Polly Leasure's maiden name was "Shrader", and her Father was a John Shrader. I found no sign of engraving indicating that John was also on the stone. I expect that "Rosan" was her Mother.
Here are a few photos. The day was very overcast, and I'll go back and do a better job when the sun and vegetation are out (or I have my flash with me).
