Laybourn (1655): N39 54.943 W83 40.994

On a hilltop surrounded by an old fence, with no access except via private drive. It's very visible from the road. Because of my time limitations I opted to move on after a few photos from the road.

Someone on Rootsweb reported on the names on the stones, and has posted some photos at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohclark/cemetery/Laybourncem.htm . From what I can see from my long-range photos, the cemetery has been cleaned up since their posting.

Your pictures of Laybourn Cemetery are amazing to me! My wife, Mary, and I were the ones that read the cemetery in September of 1999. If I knew how to include a picture, it would show the condition of the cemetery at that time. It was so overgrown, we had to cut much growth away from the stones just to get the dark photos we posted on Rootsweb.

We live in Minnesota, and had been searching for this cemetery, where my great grandfather was buried. He was killed in the Civil War in 1875. All the graves are my ancestors.

We would like to get a print, if possible---glad to pay for postage!
