Heheheh, I have to pay one of my friends $5 because she's freaked out by gnomes, and believes there's evil ones roaming her neighborhood. (This started after we were talking on the phone, and I mentioned the gnome in South America who was seen walking out of a bush). She's also freaked because her dog, Gypsy, was going crazy and barking outside one night. We were on the phone at the time, and she ventured outside to see what her-and I quote- "crackhead dog" was barking at. :laughing6:

She said there was this weird tall figure walking around, and her neighbor is like a farmer or something like that, and he had a scarecrow. According to her, the scarecrow wasn't on it's post.

So, a mutual friend is staying the night with her this weekend, and she says she'll sneak out at 1:00 am (eastern time, if that matters) to look, IF I pay her $5.

She's now made a revised version of that deal, and I must pay her an extra $2 to search for the scarecrow. Of course, she's not stupid, she's taking the mutual friend and Gypsy with her.

With the economy the way it is... there are quite a few abandoned and vacant homes right in my neighborhood.

Unfortunately, that's pretty common here in Ohio right now.

It's too freaking cold to do anything. :-( I was hoping after the last snow storm that things would warm up and I could get some exploring/metal detecting in. Then we got the storm this past week. :angryfire:

Oh...well. I'm taking a weekend in April to go up to Michigan to metal detect a boy scout camp. I'll keep my eyes out for any old cemeteries.

We have about 15" on snow on the ground right now. I think I'll wait until it warms a little. :)

It looks like we'll have two weeks of temps in the mid to upper 40's here in central Ohio after this week. Tomorrow's high of 15 degrees along with several days in the 20's are between now and then though. Maybe a little bit of snow also.

Warmer weather and a trip up to Mansfield this weekend. Can't wait to get back in that old building. It will be a work day cleaning up some more areas for the 2009 season.

Just checked the thermometer.
It's gotten clear up to freezing!! :laughing6:
I heard we've a record snowfall and have had record cold this winter.
I, too, am very ready for springtime!!

The muck is starting to melt in German Village (where they don't plow). Hopefully this will all be gone by the end of next week.

We hired a private company to do our neighborhood just west of New Albany because we're in the Columbus City Limits and they never make it. Without anyone plowing half of us could never get out of the subdivision.

The weather has been bat sh*t crazy lately. It was in the 60's, then below freezing temps, then the 40's, then freezing temps again with a huge ice/snow storm, and then back in the 60's, then in the teens again, and now it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow.

I'm ready for Spring.

Well it got up to 66 here at my house yesterday according to the digital thermometer. Today it's sitting at 42. The wind was ridiculous lastnight. We recorded a gust of 58 MPH and we're kind of in a protected area. It was roaring when I took the dogs out around midnight.

I havent been out exploring much at all this year. Mostly due to the abundance of ghost hunts and investigations I have been doing with COGS, but I really do miss it and am planning on a road trip soon to see whats out there. Anyone else make it out lately or spot anything cool?

Oh yeah, how was the unergrowth out that way, was it still thick. I thought about wandering down there after the leaves and follage is off so I can see more of the foundations and remnants.
