Hi Bluecobra, I went on the one Investigation there around three months ago. I got some good evps in the basement area and experienced cold spots and EMF activity down there as well. Although I did not experience it on my trip there is supposed to be an aparition of a woman in white that crosses the stage and goes up the stairs to the catwalk as well. Some people think her name is Elizabeth. There is also an old usher named Everettte whos name has come up a couple times on evps who is suposed to haunt the opera house. And lastly there is often supposed to be old music heard in the opera house. Those are the primary activity I have heard about. The basement, the stage and the catwalk above the stage seem to be the most active. Almost all the activity the night I went there was in the basement and was late at night, after 1am. I am going back for another invesigation on april 11th and I am looking forward to it. I hope that helps you somewhat.
you can also see pictires of my trip there on my website if you want to take a look.

Thanks, we are always looking for some place new to hunt. One guy in your group was turned on to the place from another "hunter" that he knows. Looks like the hard part will be finding a time that we can all get there at one time. The crazy part is my college roomate married a girl from Stockport, so he and I have been around the area looking for trouble on a Saturday night in the big city.

I keep getting a 403 error as I try to post here?

Okay it finally went thru on the fourth try.

I was just going to remind everyone that the August 8th date for the next open investigation of the twin city opera house is coming up. I would love to see any of the grave addiction forum goers attend or think about scheduling your own private tour/investigation. we have had a dozen groups thru since we got started earlier this year and many of them have vowed to return intrigued and delighted by their experiences at the opera house. In fact two groups have allready kept that promise and another has a second date scheduled soon. so come on out and check it out for yourself.

Check it out I was interviewed by a local tv station for the Twin City Opera House open ghost hunt Oct 30th and it should air sunday night at 11pm on WHIZ out of Zanesville. It was pretty cool and they actually hung out with us for at least a half hour and really were interested which was cool. here is a link to the article about it on their website so check it out.

People say they have experienced something other wordly with in the Twin City Opera House in McConnelsville.
Built in 1890 the opera house has seen thousands of visitors and actors, but ghost hunters believe some never left.
"It is pretty haunted, let me tell you, it is one of the most active and consistently active places I know paranormally," tells Marty Myers a Case Manager for the Central Ohio Ghost Squad.
Myers and his partner, Eric Glosser, have researched and recorded paranormal activity within these walls and they say the opera house is one of the most haunted buildings in all of Ohio.

"I have had a lot of activity, even last night with the guy we call Red Wine Robert, he seems to have quite a sense of humor fluctuating the temperature back and forth," tells Eric Glosser a Director with the Central Ohio Ghost Squad.
While on the cat walk we briefly made contact with Red Wine Robert.
"Robert? Robert? And you can usually tell because you will get a chill, well look at my arms right now, goosebumps and a chill everywhere," said Glosser as the electro magnetic field monitor beeped profusely.
Ghost hunters use video cameras, voice recorders and electro magnetic field monitors to record paranormal activity. Myers and Glosser both say they have seen apparitions and black shadowy figures and even heard a child giggling in the opera house.
There are at least five distinct ghosts within the opera house and most are very friendly toward people, but something far more sinister resides in the basement.

"A lot of people had shadow activity, things will move behind you til you are so uncomfortable you want to move. Growling has been heard behind people, people have been thunked on the head very occasionally," says Myers.
A black shadowy mass was caught moving in the basement by two separate cameras. Executive Director of the opera house, Adam Shriver, says even his staff will not come down to the basement alone and many have reported experiencing paranormal activity.

"Many of the staff members claimed to have seen strange things moving around and shadows and things like that," tells Shriver.
The Central Ohio Ghost Squad is holding a ghost hunt October 30th beginning at 10:00 PM. www.twincityoperahouse.com
To sign up click the link above. Myers and Glosser say just one night at the opera house will make a believer out of you.

The Halloween Investigation went very well, thanks to everyone who came. We had alot of activity up in the catwalk area and had an apearance from the black mass in the basement as well as a couple good startles for several of the people who turned out for the event. I have pics up from it at my website for anyone wanting to check it out. We will probably have another public investigation in two or three months for thos interested. I hope everyone had a happy Haloween and look forward to seeing you again.

Twin City Opera House

Next Community / Public Ghost Hunt

Saturday August 7th, 2010

Cost: $35.00 per person at the door.

Registration is at 9:30PM

Investigation 10 PM to 3 AM http://www.twincityoperahouse.com/

Built in 1892 and reported to be haunted as far back as the 1960s.
There is no place quite like the Twin City Opera House in my opinion, I certainly haven't been anywhere else with as much variety of paranormal activity or anywhere I enjoyed investigating more. I have investigated the opera house over a dozen times now and you know what, I cant wait to go there again and try setting the cameras differently and changing up where the audio digitals are going based on what I have learned there from previous investigations or trying out new theories or techniques. I also cant wait to try talking to and communicating with the spirits that are there. We have identified two distinct spirits that are very active up in the catwalk area above the stage, Elizabeth and ten year old girl who has given us her name and age thru evps and disembodied voices, whispering her age into a couple investigators ears and often heard giggling up in the catwalk, she even ocasionally has been sighted peaking over the rail looking down on the stage and has left her name as a evp in anser to a question. Then there is Robert whos first evp to us said "I've got red wine" and who may have been a stage hand or actor at the Twin City Opera House, he is particularly mischievious and often interacts with pretty woman guests and investigators thru emf and evp sessions and has even touched a few of them when encouraged. Footsteps and odd cold spells are other phenomina that often occur in the catwalk and many times you can actually ask the spirits to cool the catwalk area down and watch your thermometer drop as you encourage them. Then there is a white lady who has been seen by many different people walking across the stage and up the catwalk stairs. Numerous times cameras and equipment has been moved , shut off or otherwise manipulated to thwart investigators catching evidence of her passage. Recently multible sightings of an aparition darting up the left hand stairs to the stage and around the corner near the top of the basement steps have also been reported and the shadow activity in the basement has to be seen to be believed at times. A black mass has been photographed and caught simultaneously on two IR cameras down in the deepest part of the basement near the old closed off tunnel system that used to link the opera house basement to multible locations about town. Loud growling is also been heard and at least two sightings of shadow men have happened to our own investigators while the lights were on and setting up and tearing down cameras was in progress. EVP sessions with long question and anser sessions and evps later backing up yes and no questions have been a staple in the basement at times in our earliest investigations. almost all areas of the opera house have yeilded EVPs including the basement, catwalk, auditorium, concession stand ,projection booth and ballroom. www.twincityoperahouse.com
