On March 31, 2008 I received an e-mail from Tara about an interesting ouija board experience:
This is a story that happened last Saturday at a birthday party with 12 of my friends.
All 12 of us were sitting around the room in the dark, telling scary experiences we've had in our lives. Then Kelsey had a story about a spirit she had contacted from a ouija board. Then we all started talking about doing one ourselves, so we made one out of paper for the board and a small piece of cardboard for the planchette. We all sat in a circle, and it was pitch black except for one small candle beside our paper board. Three people put their hands on the planchette, and Kelsey started to speak.
Kelsey: Are there any spirits here with us?
Board: Yes
Sydney: What is your name?
Board: Betty
Andrea: What's your last name?
Betty: Fengs
Those three girls were the ones with their fingers on the planchette. After a long while, we discovered Betty was a really great person who had a terrible life. Betty's mother was killed by her father, and when she was 12 her father raped her; she was raised by him and was abused by him. Betty was very scared when she discovered she was a lesbian...she was terrified to tell her father, and when she did, he hit her. Betty fell in love once, but she had to break her love's heart; that was the biggest mistake of her life. One night, her exgirlfriend came into her house and strangled her to death. At the age of 36, Betty was dead.
All of us were so exited that it really worked, we started having a loud discussion, which you are not supposed to do. About 30 seconds into our disscusion about our new friend, the candle suddenly went out, and there were many screams. When all of us calmed down, we found a flashlight and asked Betty:
Andrea: Was that you, Betty? Did you put the candle out?
Betty: Yes
Sydney: Why?
Betty: Too much talk.
That was the scariest part for everyone. Lots more happened that night...well we DID do it for 5 hours...Betty was a nice person who didn't deserve to die, and all of us were happy to have a friend in the afterlife.
R.I.P Betty Fengs.
