Proud Mother

March 24, 2008

On March 24, 2008 I received an e-mail from Laura Hernandez about another interesting ouija board experience:

I got on the board Monday night to say hello to my mom. She starts dancing all around the board, after she introduces herself with her initials. I asked her, wow mom you're happy today. She said of course I am happy, I have a daughter who is very successful and I am so proud of her. I started thinking about my sister, and I said, oh really, what is she successful about? She says NOT HER...you! I said awww mom, thanks I love you...she said, well you're doing great at your job, and you will be ok. She never really gets into too many details as she can only say certain things. I have learned by now not to ask detailed questions and not to put her on the spot like that.

The next day I go to work, and we receive a corp email that my company has been bought out by a large corp. Everyone was upset. I just said, it is what it is, it won't affect my department as we are the heart of the company.

With this merger, we also have to redo all our medical plans, etc. As I was filling out paperwork, I noticed that my title is incorrect. I approached my boss and said, hey they have my wrong title on here, who do I inform about the typo. He says, uhhh oh ok, well congratulations, you have been promoted. I thought he was kidding and he said, no really that's how people get promoted around here...we see title changes. I was in awe, and I immediately went to the CEO of the company and asked him about my "promotion"...before I start celebrating let me make sure its true. He says, very well deserved and welcome to the board of DIRECTORS. I am estatic that I am NOW a DIRECTOR...Now hopefully this weekend she will tell me if she also sees me making a director's salary as this has yet to be discussed...lol
