On February 11, 2008 I received an e-mail from Kevin about an interesting ouija board experience:
We have been using the board a little bit over the past few months. My ex-roommate and I started trying to find real haunted places around Halloween time. We get random ideas all of the time, and usually follow through. It all started as a joke, that we'd talk to the dead and all that. Well his girlfriend Becca said she has used it, and it scares her, so we decided to try it. On the first try it told me to die, and my roommate Dustin was told the same thing. As we said goodbye, Dustin stood up, turned his ankle, spilt the red candle, and to this day there is wax on the carpet in the shape of a pitchfork. Here is an odd occurance in a graveyard in Kennesaw, GA.
Us: Are there any spirits who would like to talk?
Board: Yes
Us: what is your name?
Board: Steve
Us: Steve who, what is your last name?
Board: Steve, find me
(Dustin walks away, searching for the grave in the dark for 10 minutes)
Becca and I: Where are you?
Board: right
Me: To my right, or the right of the the board?
Board: Yours kevin
(after searching for a bit)
Me: I just looked, I can't find you
Board: Go far
Me: Are you across the street?
Board: Yes come talk
(I walked across the street and found a tombstone that read STEVE, nothing else. Dustin had made his way back, so I had them talk through the board while I was at the grave)
Them: What do you want from Kevin?
Board: Talk
Them: Can we come over and talk to you?
Board: No just kev
Them: Why?
Board: I like him
(I continued to talk to him, about nothing really. I said my goodbyes, and the board moved to goodbye right as I said goodbye)
We left, and it gave us a little scare because I felt a presence around me. I promised to revisit Steve (it was the only way he would let me leave). I thought it was cool, but I'm not too thrilled about doing it in graveyards anymore, I find it much harder to contact spirits of your choice, such as past loved ones, spiritual guides, or anyone personal to you.
