On November 11, 2009 I received an e-mail from Heather and Justice about an interesting ouija board experience:


Hello. Our names are Heather and Justice. We have been experiencing some odd things around our apartment, so we decided to try a Ouija Board. The first few tries did nothing, but the last try was very successful.

Heather: Is there anyone here who would like to speak to us?
Board: (no movement)

Justice: Is there anyone here?
Board: (moves slightly)

Justice: Is there someone here?
Board: Yes

Justice: What is your name?
Board: No

Heather: No is your name?
Board: No

Justice: You don't want to tell us your name?
Board: Yes

Justice: Why don't you want to tell us your name?
Board: Bad

Justice: Your name is bad?
Board: No

Heather: Will something bad happen if you tell us your name?
Board: Yes

Justice: What will happen?
Board: Priyc

Heather: Did you spell that wrong?
Board: Yes

Heather: Do you want to try again?
Board: Yes

Justice: What will happen if you tell us your name?
Board: Richard

Justice: Richard?
Board: Yes

Justice: Who is Richard?
Board: Bad

Heather: Why... (board continues moving)
Board: Hurt me

Heather: How did Richard hurt you?
Board: Locks

Justice: Do you mean the locks on the outside of the bedroom doors?
Board: Yes

Justice: So you used to live here?
Board: Sort

Heather: You sort of used to live here?
Board: Yes

Justice: What do you mean?
Board: Richard locks me

Justice: Did Richard lock you in the bedroom?
Board: Yes

Heather: Who is Richard?
Board: Naybor

Heather: He was your neighbor?
Board: Yes

Justice: So you used to live in the house next door?
Board: Sort

Justice: What do you mean?
Board: Old howse

Heather: Do you mean they rebuilt the house next door, and you lived in the old house?
Board: Yes

Justice: How old are you?
Board: 89

Heather: You're 89 years old?
Board: No

Heather: How old are you?
Board: 8

Heather: You're 8 years old?
Board: Yes

Justice: Why did Richard lock you in the bedroom?
Board: Touch

Justice: He touched you?
Board: Yes bad

Justice: Is Richard here?
Board: Some

Heather: So Richard is here sometimes?
Board: Yes

Heather: Is Richard here right now?
Board: Stay

Heather: He stays here?
Board: Yes but

Heather: But what?
Board: Stay away

Justice: We should stay away from Richard?
Board: Yes bad

Heather: Will you tell us your name now?
Board: Maybe

Justice: What is your name?
Board: Caroline (spelled out very slowly)

Justice: Is Caroline your real name?
Board: Yes No Yes No Yes No Yes No Yes
Board: Get out Get out Get out Get out

Heather: You want us to get out?
Board: Leave

Heather: Is this still Caroline?
Board: Goodbye

Justice: Is someone still there?

Board: (no movement)

We're not sure what happened exactly, but since then we have heard what sounds like a little girl humming in the bedroom on a few occasions, and an old man coughing in the kitchen once. We've done some investigation in the town's library and there was, in fact, a man who lived her named Richard who committed suicide in 1923, and a little girl named Caroline who lived in the house next door who went missing in 1920. They never found Caroline or her body. She was 5 years old when she went missing.
