On December 29, 2009 I received an e-mail from Hannah about an interesting ouija board experience:


What I am about to tell you happened on Sunday evening, the week before Christmas. The day before (Saturday), my sister and I were watching an Agatha Christie film, Murder Mystery. It included an Ouija board. My sister and I didn't know what they were, so we asked our mother. She is a Christian and told us what one was, however, she warned us against using them.

But my sister and I got more and more curious, though we were cautious of it going wrong. We decided to use it on Sunday night, about 10 PM, without my mother knowing. I spent all Sunday researching it, rules, etc and came across your website (which was very helpful, so thanks!). I wanted it to be safe as possible as my sister is only 10 (I am 14) and I didn't want to freak her out.

Our board was made of paper stuck to cardboard with a light wine glass used a the planchette. We did it in the spare room, and said one of your prayers.

Me: Is there anyone here who wishes to speak?
Board: (after 15 seconds or so) Maybe

I was COMPLETELY freaked out! My sister didn't move it, because she isn't that sort of person, plus it was going towards her, and I certainly wasn't moving it. It felt weird, like the glass was moving by itself. We weren't sure what to say, so:

Me: Are you male or female?
Board: F (for female)

Me: What is your name?
Board: R.S

Me: Are those your initials?
Board: (after a minute) Yes

Me: How did you die?
Board: Car

Me: Car crash?
Board: Yes

(my heart was beating at about 100 miles an hour, though my sister was fascinated)

Me: How old were you when you died?
Board: 7

Me: I am sorry, thats very young.
Board: Thanks

Board: Goodbye

I was quite relieved, I've heard stories of spirits refusing to leave.

Me: Goodbye, and thank you very much for your time in talking to us.
Board: Ok. Bye.

Note: Nothing bad happened after that, and right up until now (over a week later) everything appears fine, so we're sure she was a good spirit. Still, it did freak me out, and I don't think I'll use it again in the near future. Though, who knows...I am curious to explore some more! I wouldn't say oujia boards are totally bad, as long as you treat them with caution and care, and research the stuff it spells, you should be ok :)
