Greenwood Cemetery is located on the north side of US-40 in Zanesville, Ohio (Muskingum County). The coordinates are 39° 56' 35" N, 81° 59' 11" W.

Greenwood Cemetery is very large, and it is still active. The oldest gravestones are located on the west side of the cemetery, where it adjoins with Saint Thomas Catholic Cemetery. There are also many interesting mausoleums in this cemetery, including one that has many colorful tiles on the outside. Although a few gravestones have been damaged, the majority are in excellent condition. The cemetery is very well maintained.
