Fort Steuben is located at 120 South Third Street in Steubenville, Ohio (Jefferson County).

Fort Steuben was constructed in 1786 by Captain John Francis Hamtramck of the First American Regiment. Its purpose was to provide protection for the Northwest Territory surveyors. The construction was complete in February 1787. It was named after Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, a Prussian army officer who assisted General George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
