Fort Jackson is located at 1 Fort Jackson Road in Savannah, Georgia.

Fort Jackson is the oldest standing fort in Georgia. It was built in 1808. President Thomas Jefferson authorized the construction, with hopes that it would prevent Savannah from an attack by the British Navy.

Fort Jackson was first used during the War of 1812. It was then used during the Civil War, until the city was captured by General William T. Sherman in 1864. The fort was decommissioned in 1905, and today it is operated and very well maintained by the Coastal Heritage Society.
