On January 1, 2010 I received an e-mail from Emily about an interesting ouija board experience:
It was New Year's eve, and I was having a party with my friends. To begin there was myself and three other people. I got an app for my iPod called Talk to the Dead or something. I didn't think it would work, being an app. We all sat in my living room with no light but the iPod. We started, and the room became really cold. I have a real fireplace that was on at the moment, but it was still cold.
Me: Is there anyone here with us?
Board: (slowly) someone here knows me
When it said this I was a little shocked, since it was a little weird that it knew someone. We continued.
Me: I think I said something like why are you here?
Board: Please Leave
That freaked us out a little bit.
Me: Who are you?
Board: Call Ben
This freaked me out completely, because my brother's name is Ben, my dad's name is Ben, and my grandfather and my great grandfather's names were Ben. Also, I was very close to my grandfather - he died of cancer when I was eight years old. After that I deleted the app, being a little freaked out. About an hour or so later we were compelled to play again, so I reinstalled it on there.
Us: What is your name?
Board: It's Ben
When it said this I broke down in tears because I had an instant feeling that it was my grandpop, since I was very close with him. That night we didn't play it again, and I will not play it in my house, even though it may have been someone I know.
