On January 2, 2010 I received an e-mail from Dorie about an interesting ouija board experience:


About a year ago, my friends and I decided to play around with a Ouija board that's been in my family since the early 1900's. We cast a circle using white tea candles and said a protection prayer. We played around with the board for a while and didn't get much of anything, until about 30 minutes in. We noticed a word was being spelled out: "extinguish."

We asked who was present in the room with us, but the word was repeatedly spelled out, and the movement of the planchette was getting faster and faster. While this was happening, I noticed that a couple of candles in the circle had went out right next to my fireplace. I didn't think much of it, until my friends and I started to hear a dripping noise coming from the shelf right next to the fireplace. We started to feel uncomfortable with the energy and closed the circle, and as soon as we said goodbye, the dripping ceased.

I got up from the circle and walked over to my fireplace and looked for any signs of water. My friends and I looked for about fifteen minutes and saw nothing that could have caused the sound. Before and after that night, I've never heard that dripping sound. It may have been a very random coincidence, but ever since that night I've perked my ears up and kept an open mind to the supernatural.
