The Chief Blackhoof Memorial Park is located beside Saint Johns Cemetery near the intersection of US-33 and OH-65.

Chief Blackhoof (Catahecassa) was the last principle chief of the Shawnee tribe prior to their removal to Kansas in 1832. He lived in the Saint Johns area until his death in September 1831. He was a very brave, respected Chief who fought in many battles. The inscription on the monument gives a lot of information about his life.
