On January 18, 2010 I received an e-mail from Cassie about an interesting ouija board experience:


My name is Cassie. The date I used the ouija board was January 18, 2010 around midnight. When I was 6 years old, my biological mom passed away from an anuerism. On January 18th, when I got off work, I went to pick my boyfriend up from his mom's because he is fixing up a room for us to move into and get out of my dad and stepmom's house. His mom came downstairs and said her guardian angel (whom she talks to quite often through the ouija board) told her that he would get my mom to come through if I was ready to talk to her. So my boyfriend, Kris, and I go upstairs, his aunt Sharon, sister Kylie, mom Michelle and grandma Joann were already sitting at the table. As soon as I sat down and put my hand on it, it starts moving.

Board: There's my baby Board: How are you
Me: I'm okay.
Board: I never left
Board: you are so beautiful

(They told me that she could hear me if I just spoke in my head, so I was trying)

Board: I'm new at this, I can't seem to get this
Board: Cass I love you and don't think I ever wanted to leave you guys
Board: I can't quite understand baby you can talk they won't judge you

Me: Do you think I'm doing the right thing by moving out?
Board: baby its what you think that counts they may get angry but if its what you want then go for it its about you and the baby

(I am 7 months pregnant)

Michelle: That's what we've been telling her, I like you!
Michelle: You're gonna be a grandma.
Board: I know I'm too young

Michelle: I know what you mean! I feel the same way!

Kris (as Michelle lights up a cigarette): Momma, are we gonna quit smoking in the house since the baby will be here in a couple months?
Michelle: I don't know pookie.

Kris: Vicki (my mom) back me up on this, he's your grandbaby.
Board: Its her house what she says goes

Michelle: I really like her!
Board: Jake (my little brother) feels alone

Joann: Is there anything Cassie can do to change that?
Board: no

Michelle: Is there anything his parents (dad and stepmom) can do or say to change it?
Board: yes

Me: I think it's because Kris and I are getting all the attention because of the baby...
Board: yes

Joann: Is that why Jake wants them to move out?
Board: Kris yes

Michelle: Oh, so he doesn't want Cassie to leave?
Board: no

Kris: Vicki, I'll take care of your daughter.
Board: I know you will Kris

Joann: Vicki, is there anything you can tell Cassie to reassure her that if she wants to go to college there's no reason she can't?
Board: you can do it baby
Board: I'm so sorry I left you guys alone

(long silence, there's so many things running through my head I didn't know what to say)

Kris: Do you have any ideas for a middle name?
Board: Ryan

Kris and I start laughing.

Kris: That's what it'll be then.

Sharon (to me): Is that one of the middle names you wanted?
Me: It was her maiden name before she married my dad, and I was thinking about naming him after her.
Board: I hope you can forgive me I never wanted to give up my babies
Board: its hard now because of the energies
Board: to hear her

Sharon: Would it be easier if she was alone?
Board: yes but she can't hear me

Me: Mom, I forgive you, I know there was nothing you could have done.
Board: I could have fought harder

Michelle: What she means is when we're given an exit we don't know at the time that we don't have to take it. They could fight harder if they knew they could.
Sharon: But it also could have been what was meant to be at the time.
Board: yes.

Kris: Vicki, sometimes I talk to you, do you listen?
Board: yes of course kristopher
Board: I loved my family

Kris: I know you did, they know you did too.

Everyone at the table starts talking about the baby, and the planchette starts moving.

Board: he will be beautiful
Board: ask me anything sweetie

Me: I don't know what to ask...
Kris: Vicki, I sleep hard and sometimes have trouble waking up. Will you help me wake up when the baby starts crying in the middle of the night?
Board: no you won't sleep much

Michelle: Are there any messages you want to tell Cassie?
Board: you will make a beautiful mother and tell Jake if he will listen that I love him and same to your father

Me: I will, is there anything you want me to tell Mamaw (grandma on her side)?
Board: make sure she knows I'm with her and not to be sad I will be with her soon enough

Sharon: Spirits have no such thing as time, so what's soon to them isn't really what we mean by soon.
Board: yes
Board: she worries about me too much but tell her I'm okay now

Me: Is there anyone else you want me to give a message to?
Board: Beth (my aunt on dad's side) tell her to never forget the old memories and never give up we had some great times
Board: anything else you want to ask?

Me: I can't think of anything right now...(still too much going through my head)
Guardian angel: Is there anything else you want to tell your mom?

Me: I love you
Board: I love you baby girl take care of yourself

Michelle: Okay, Michael. Are there any last digs you want to give out before we shut this board down?
Michael(guardian angel): have a nice night granny

Michelle: Oh, you didn't have to go that far!
Sharon (to Michelle): You asked for it though
Board: yes

Sharon: Okay, buh bye now
Board: goodbye.
