On November 3, 2007 I received an e-mail from Candice C. about an interesting ouija board experience:
Today was my first time using a Ouija board. The man my friend and I talked to was named Naupica, and he was from Germany. He died in 1866 at the age of 46. He told us he liked talking to us, so I asked him if he got lonely where he was. He told us no, so my friend asked him where he was at. He got as far as to spell out the letter "H" and "E" before I pulled my hands off the planchette. My friend got really mad at me, but I explained to her that it's not advisable to let the spirit spell out any word with a sinister nature. She told me that it could have been saying "Heaven," so I let her try it again. This time Naupica spelled out "HEL" before I pulled my fingers away. I had said one of the prayers on your site before we started and lit a white candle. I'd kind of like to know your advice on what to do when a spirit says something like that. It was honestly kind of scary.
Before that, while my friend and I were playing, my dad came downstairs where we had the board. He doesn't believe in spirits or God or anything. Not only does he not believe, but he thinks it's all flat out stupid. Anyway, he mocked the Ouija board. He said it was nothing but a stupid heap of cardboard and plastic. Then he picked up the planchette and made it spell out the words "CLEAN HOUSE" (because he wanted us to clean up) then said, "Wow, look, it really does work." After my dad went back upstairs we asked the Ouija board why it wouldn't talk to us (it had not been working well before). The planchette moved to "Goodbye." After a few more minutes, it moved to the letters "DAD." The spirit was actually mad at my dad for mocking it! We thought that was pretty bizarre.
