On January 5, 2008 I received an e-mail from Alex H. about an interesting ouija board experience:


This was the first time I used a Ouija Board. We used it several times that night. These are all of the conversations I can remember us having with the spirits. It was very early morning on January 1st, 2008. It was probably around 3 AM. We were in an old church. We were in the basement, next to the staircase. There are many conversations here.

Conversation #1
Alex, Sarah G., Markeesha, Brianna, Blaine, Makayla, Sarah S., Dean (my dad)

Sarah S: Is anyone here?
Board: Yes.

Brianna: Are you a boy or a girl?
Board: Animal

Brianna: You're an animal?
Board: Yes.

Alex: What kind of animal?
Board. Rhino.

Alex: You're a rhino?
Board: Yes.

Dean: Are you sure you're a rhino?
Board: No. [moves to goodbye]

Conversation #2 (immediately after)
Alex, Blaine, Makayla, Brianna, Sarah G, Dean

Alex: Is anyone here?
Board: Yes.

Brianna: What is your name?
Board: Emm

Brianna: How old were you when you died?
Board: 12

Blaine: When did you die?
Board: 2007

Blaine: Did you go to our school?
Board: Yes.

Blaine: Who was your favorite teacher?
Board: [names a teacher from our school]

Alex: Was she your homeroom teacher?
Board: No.

Alex: Who was?
Board: [names MY homeroom teacher]

Alex: Did I know you?
Board: No.

Alex: Did you get good grades?
Board: No.

Brianna: Were you in any special ed classes?
Board: No.

Dean: (laughing) Are you a rhino?
Board: No. I hate him.

Alex: Who?
Board: D-E-A-N

Alex: Oh yeah? What's his middle name? [I knew no one else would know this]
Board: [moves to goodbye]

Conversation #3 [I don't remember who asked each question, so I'll just put "asker"]
Alex, Makayla, Sarah G, Blaine, Brianna

Asker: Is anyone here?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Are you good?
Board: No.

Asker: Are you evil?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Will you harm anyone?
Board: Yes.

*all run out of room. return to finish game, as rules say*

Asker: We're sorry. Are you in this room?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Who are you standing by?
Board: Sarah

*Sarah screams*

Asker: Who will you harm?
Board: All.

Blaine says to me: Look, do you see that?
Me: What?
Blaine: That cross, it's glowing.

No one was scared anymore, and the ghost left. No harm done.

Conversation #4
Sarah G, Alex, Makayla, Blaine, Brianna

Asker: Is anyone there?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Have we talked to you before?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Is this Emm?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Hi Emm. What is your last name?
Board: Greer. [There was a Sarah Greer in the room]

Asker: Do you know Sarah Greer?
Board: Yes.

Asker: How do you know her?
Board: Family.

Asker: Were you her cousin?
Board. No. Sister.

Asker: Is there anything you would like to say to her?
Board: Love.

Sarah Greer: I'm scared.

Asker: Sarah is scared. Will you please leave?
Board: No.

Asker: Why?
Board: Love.

Asker: She loves you too. Please leave.
Board: More.

Asker: You have more to say?
Board: Yes.

Asker: What is it?
Board: B-E-K-A-R-E-F-U-L

Asker: Sarah should be careful?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Why?
Board: D-E-A-T-H [moves to goodbye]

Conversation #5
Alex, Makayla, Brianna

Asker: Emm Greer, please talk to us.
Board: Yes.

Asker: Is this Emm?
Board: Yes.

Asker: Emm, please tell us how Sarah will die.
Board: C-A-R--A--C-C-I-D-E-N-T [i had begun crying in the middle of this]

Asker: How many days?
Board: 108. L-I-E.

Asker: Emm, this must be very hard for you. Should we let you rest and gather more energy?
Board: Yes.

Asker: How many minutes?
Board: 5.

*****5 minutes later*****

Asker: Emm, are you rested?
Board: Yes.

Asker: When will Sarah die? Giver us the number of the month.
Board: 2.

Asker: February. Now the day.
Board: 3.

Asker: February 3, 2008?
Board: Yes. [Brianna and I begin to cry]

Board: [moves to goodbye]
Later, when Sarah was using the board with us and we asked, it kept repeating No, Bad, No, Bad.

Emm was a most frightening ghost, but I hope to talk to her again anyway.

Our very last conversation was with a ghost who said his name was "Fuck." He said he was a rapist, and would rape Brianna. We then forced it to say goodbye. "Fuck" was uneventful.
