Albany Rural Cemetery is located at 48 Cemetery Avenue in Menands, New York (Albany County). The coordinates are 42° 42' 20" N, 73° 44' 7" W.

Albany Rural Cemetery was established on October 7, 1844. It is huge, and it is still active. There are many old gravestones, including many with beautiful statues. President Chester Arthur, the twenty-first President of the United States of America, is buried here. There are many other notable people interred in the cemetery too. Most of the monuments are in excellent condition. The grounds are extremely well maintained.

Albany Rural Cemetery is also supposedly haunted. Many people have witnessed the apparitions of a young couple in pajamas floating amongst the gravestones. Others have seen glowing orbs and dark figures.
