The Adena State Memorial is located at the end of Adena Road in Chillicothe, Ohio. It is maintained by the Ohio Historical Society.

Adena was Thomas Worthington's mansion. He was the sixth governor of Ohio, and a United States Senator. Today the house sits on 300 hundred acres, it was built on 2000 acres. There are beautiful gardens, and a breathtaking view of the Chillicothe from the top of the hill.

Adena was designed by Benjamin Latrobe, one of America's first professional architects. Construction was completed in 1807. The stone was quarried locally, and cut on site. Each of the sandstone blocks are 22 inches thick, so it's a very sturdy house. Adena is one of the remaining three houses designed by Latrobe that is still standing.
